Katie Price’s son Harvey ‘coming home for good’ following battle over college place and bankruptcy
Katie Price has announced that her eldest son Harvey will be “coming home for good” following months of difficulty securing appropriate residential care.
The 47-year-old former glamour model revealed the news on her podcast last week, explaining that the 23-year-old will soon transition to independent living.
Harvey, who is blind, autistic, and one of 2,000 people in the UK with Prader-Willi syndrome, has faced an uncertain future after being withdrawn from his £350,000-per-year specialist institution last year.
The withdrawal came amid council funding cuts and Price’s second bankruptcy declaration over an unpaid tax bill exceeding £750,000.
Speaking on The Katie Price Show podcast, she confirmed Harvey would leave college following his leavers ceremony, marking his entry into what she called the “real world”.
Harvey has septo-optic dysplasia and a learning disability alongside his other conditions.
He had been residing at National Star specialist institution since 2021, but Price was forced to withdraw him last year due to funding issues.
The journey to find alternative accommodation has been fraught with challenges.
In February, Harvey lost a placement at a care home after being deemed “too difficult” when management changed and determined they could not meet his needs.
“We worked months and months for that and he was told four-and-a-half weeks before that he couldn’t go there, and Harvey has been doing the countdown,” Price revealed on her podcast.
West Sussex County Council also reduced Harvey’s funding last July, with an assessor concluding he “only needs social care” rather than healthcare support.
Price disclosed that Harvey will initially move to temporary accommodation in Southampton, where he will live with five other adults.
This arrangement will serve as a transition before his permanent placement begins in October.
“I’ve found him a place in Southampton which is temporary. It’s got five other adults in it,” she explained on her podcast.
“Then he moves to his place in October, which is Littlehampton, which will be nearer to me. He’s going from college to independent living.”
The Littlehampton location represents a significant improvement for the family, as Price has frequently expressed frustration about the distance between her Sussex home and Harvey’s previous placements.
She described the move as Harvey’s transition from college life to independent living arrangements.
Price shared her excitement on social media, posting a photograph of herself cuddling Harvey during a college visit. “Reunited with my baby bear. Harvey’s coming home for good in 12 days,” she wrote on Facebook.
She posted another image on Tuesday showing her kissing Harvey, adding: “Love you so much Harv, not long now” with hashtags including “#soproudofyou” and “#newbeginningsahead”.

Harvey’s biological father is former footballer Dwight Yorke, who dated Price briefly in 2001. Though a DNA test confirmed paternity, Price has stated that Yorke has barely seen their son since birth.
