Kym Marsh reflects on recent split as she makes candid marriage declaration: ‘I’m out!’
Actress Kym Marsh has vowed never to marry again following three failed marriages, speaking candidly during promotion for her new play Abigail’s Party.
The 48-year-old former Coronation Street star made the declaration in a recent interview.
“I’ve been married three times, and three times it’s not gone well – so no more for me. Three strikes and I’m out,” Marsh stated firmly to The Independent.
Her comments come just months after splitting from her toyboy boyfriend Samuel Thomas.
Marsh’s comments came while discussing her role in Abigail’s Party, which is set in the 1970s.
She reflected on the era’s expectations, telling the publication: “You were expected to get married back then. It was almost a little girl’s dream.”
The actress contrasted this with her own experience, making it clear she has no intention of walking down the aisle again.
Her declaration follows a string of relationship disappointments, with the star now focusing on her professional commitments rather than romantic pursuits.

Marsh had previously declared Samuel Thomas, who is 19 years her junior, as her “soulmate” in a social media post last August.
“Met the most amazing man ever! Sometimes the most unexpected things happen at the most unexpected times,” she wrote at the time, adding: “@samuelthomasuk I love you #beautiful #soulmate.”
The relationship reportedly ended around Christmas, with a source telling The Sun the split was “cordial”.
An insider revealed: “Once Kym’s role in 101 Dalmatians ended it became harder to spend time together and some of the magic they had at the beginning just disappeared.”
In the same interview, Marsh expressed frustration at being questioned about her love life during professional engagements.
“Sorry, you think that the decisions in my life are based on how old I am and who I’ve broken up with?” she said pointedly.
She revealed this is a recurring issue in her career, explaining: “Even when I’ve been doing interviews for jobs, people have asked me about my love life.”
Marsh recalled challenging one interviewer, saying: “I actually said to someone once, ‘tell me about your love life’. It’s just nonsense.”
Marsh was previously married to EastEnders actor Jack Ryder from 2002 to 2009.
She then wed Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas, with whom she shares a 14-year-old daughter named Polly, from 2012 to 2014.
Her third marriage was to Army major Scott Ratcliff in 2021 after a four-year relationship.
The couple split just 19 months later, with reports suggesting their work commitments kept them apart.
Marsh is also a grandmother to Teddy, five, through her daughter Emilie, and two-year-old Clayton via her son David.
The actress is currently taking on the lead role of Beverly Moss in Abigail’s Party at The Royal Exchange in Manchester.
The production is a major adaptation of Mike Leigh’s cult-classic satirical comedy.
Marsh made her debut at the renowned theatre at the start of April.
Set in 1970s suburbia, the play follows Beverly as she hosts a cocktail party with neighbours and friends.
