Mark Wright pays emotional tribute to ‘superhero’ wife Michelle Keegan as he shares insight into becoming a father
Mark Wright has paid a sweet tribute to his “superhero” wife Michelle Keegan following the birth of their first-born child.
The former The Only Way is Essex (Towie) star, 38, became a dad earlier this month, with he and actress Keegan, 37, announced their daughter had been born last week.
The pair shared a joint Instagram post to make the announcement, and now Wright has talked candidly about how much his life and perspective has changed since becoming a father.
“”It’s the biggest achievement of my life, it’s all I think about,” he gushed.
Speaking to Olly Murs on his Heart radio show on Saturday, the new dad continued was also full of praise for Keegan.
Speaking about the Fool Me Once star, whom he has been married to since 2015, he added: “Obviously hats go off to my wife, she is an absolute superhuman, a superhero for bringing this baby into the world.
“It makes you realise what our mums did for us and makes me have so much more respect than I already had and what women had to go through.”
Touching on the moment he first got to hold his baby daughter, Palma, he went on: “That moment when I held her in my arms, it gets me emotional now thinking about it.”

Wright continued: “I suppose everything else goes out the window and it’s made me realise what life is all about and, my little baby Palma, I love you so much and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
“It’s a very special feeling. I can’t really put it into words. We’ve waited a little bit of time, we’ve chased our dreams and our careers and now we’re here. We’ve got a baby.”
The couple announced recently that Keegan had given birth on March 6, posting an adorable black and white snap on social media and writing: “Together we have a new love to share… Our little girl. Palma Elizabeth Wright 06.03.25.”
They first shared the news they were expecting a baby in December last year, with the former Coronation Street star having opened up not long after about her journey with pregnancy.
Speaking to Grazia, she explained: “I’m usually a savoury girl, but now I’m craving sugary stuff.
“I’ll eat a chocolate bar while walking about the supermarket and just give them the wrapper at the checkout.”
Wright and Keegan, who got married in 2015, live together in Essex, and announced late last year they were expecting a baby together.
Sharing the news in 2024, Keegan posted a snap of herself and her husband, with her baby bump visible as she wrote: “2025 is going to be a special one for us…” along with a baby emoji.
With the couple having been together for more than a decade, Keegan has opened up in the past about the pressure she was put under to become a mother/
In a candid 2019 interview, the actress admitted she felt a lot of “frustration” about constantly being asked when she planned to have her first child.
“It’s horrible,” she commented, pointing out: “It’s like, ‘You’re 32. Are you not planning to have a baby yet?’
“People don’t know if we’re trying. They don’t know the background of what’s happening. “It’s no one else’s business. In this day and age you shouldn’t ask questions like that,” she told The Sun.
