Channel 4 Gogglebox star Sid Siddiqui has left fans astounded after his family revealed he has turned 80, with viewers refusing to believe the age of the beloved TV personality.
The Siddiqui family shared the milestone celebration on social media, prompting an outpouring of amazement at Sid’s age-defying appearance.
Siddiqui’s fan-favourite family have been regular fixtures on Gogglebox since the show’s inception in 2013, sharing their witty TV commentary from their Derby home.
The birthday announcement came via a heartwarming Instagram post from his sons Baasit, Raza and Umar, who shared glimpses of their family gathering to mark the special occasion.
The family celebration included a special birthday lunch, where a homemade cake crafted by Sid’s brother-in-law Simon took centre stage.
The Instagram post detailed how the family opted to place just eight candles on the cake instead of 80, with multiple attempts at singing “Happy Birthday” as they “always start too early”.
Among the festivities, the Siddiquis shared that Sid received a home fitness vibration plate as one of his birthday gifts, noting it was specifically requested by the octogenarian himself.
The social media update also included throwback photos showing “Mr Siddiqui, looking very Dapper” through the years.
Fans of the Channel 4 show were left gobsmacked upon learning the news, with many insisting the Derby-based father looks decades younger than his actual age.
