ITV viewers furiously ‘switch off’ from new gameshow Win Win as they call for replacement: ‘This is dire!’
ITV aired its new quiz show with People’s Postcode Lottery on Saturday night, with comedy duo Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins hosting.
However, Win Win viewers weren’t impressed with the new prime-time weekend show, with many admitting they’d switched off before the episode had come to an end.
The show was described as an “interactive TV event where anyone can be a winner,” with contestants and viewers from home fighting it out with identical prizes.
The six episodes will eventually conclude with a gripping final show which will see one participant walking away with an eye-watering £1million prize.
Radio presenter Jordan North also features in the series, surprising viewers in their homes.
The questions in the show came from the British public after ITV polled the nation to get their opinions on all kinds of topics.
Each episode will witness contestants battling it out to secure a position on Millionaire’s Row, either by winning their challenge or exchanging prizes.
A description from ITV ahead of its debut episode called for people to partake, reading: “We’re looking for contestants with larger-than-life personalities who are available to appear in the Win Win studio every week for six weeks.
“Prizes are likely to include dream holidays, cars and once-in-a lifetime sporting and entertainment experiences.
“The series also builds to an epic finale where one contestant is guaranteed to win at least one million pounds.”
Despite the intriguing feature, viewers who had tuned in quickly expressed their disappointment on social media.
One wrote on X: “I think the fundamental thing I don’t like about the show is that the questions are all opinion – although I appreciate that’s probably what some people like about it #winwin.”
Another simply commented: “Absolute s**** #WINWIN #ITV.”
Calling for other game shows to replace the show in its weekend slot, another wrote: “No @ITV this isn’t the answer get on the phone to Lee Mack and ask for him to be 1% club immediately this is dire it’s just random #WINWIN.”
“#WINWIN @ITV @PostcodeLottery Lasted 3 questions and decided not for me. Very weak format,” a third admitted.
Another commented: “Really thought #winwin with #melandsue would have been better.
“After answering all the #questions this is the last screen you have to complete. I mean #seriously. Don’t think I’ll be watching again. My husband really didn’t like the programme either.”
One even shared the extreme view: “Arguably, the worst show I have seen on British TV #WinWin.”
“Worst presenters with inane comments and unfunny jokes,” another complained.

Some did enjoy the opening show though, with one commenting: “I’m enjoying the new #itv #gameshow #winwin.”
Another enthused: “Anyone else watching #winwin on @itv tonight with @sueperkins and @mel_giedroyc?
“As a gameshow fan, I’m really enjoying it so far! Something fun and a bit different – quiz questions yes, but you guessing what you think the public thought. Almost Family Fortunes meets Tenable.” (sic)
