Jason Flemyng, 58, slapped with driving ban and £775 fine for travelling at 24mph in a 20mph zone
British actor Jason Flemyng has been banned from driving and slapped with a hefty fine after being caught travelling 24mph in a 20mph street.
The actor has now been disqualified from driving for six months and issued a £775 penalty after he was found guilty of speeding at Lavender Hill Magistrates in London.
The 58-year-old actor, known for his role in the crime film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, was recorded travelling at 24mph in his Kia Sorento vehicle.
The court heard that Mr Flemyng had accumulated 12 penalty points on his driving licence before this latest offence, though he had avoided disqualification previously due to an administrative issue within the justice system.

This marked the fourth offence within a 12-month period that the actor had been penalised for breaching speed restrictions.
The incident occurred on December 5, 2024, when Mr Flemyng was detected exceeding the speed restriction near his residence in Clapham, London.
During proceedings, the actor acknowledged his culpability for the violation and expressed his desire not to prolong the court’s time, saying: “I accept what has happened.”
When questioned about whether he wished to argue exceptional hardship, Mr Flemyng acknowledged the consequences for his professional commitments.
He told the court: “Well, my work and what I do for a living, and my charity work, all depend on me driving. Maybe I should have thought about that before I drove 24mph in a 20mph zone.”
Drivers can be issued a £100 fine for speeding as well as given three penalty points on their driving licence for the offence.
This amount can be higher if the case goes to court, with drivers risking prison sentences as well as a maximum of £2,500 if the event occurred on the motorway.
Across London, more than half of all roads operate at 20mph, with currently 164 miles subject to lower speed limits.

In 2023, the Metropolitan Police issued roughly 782,843 speeding fines to drivers in the capital, marking around four times more than the amount in 2018.
Mr Flemyng’s driving ban will take effect immediately, preventing the actor from operating any vehicle until early March 2026.
His admission of guilt and his acknowledgement of the impact on his professional life appeared to resonate with the magistrates, although it did not alter the mandatory disqualification for accumulating excessive penalty points.
The actor has starred in many classic British films, including appearances in Guy Ritchie’s Snatch and the Johnny Depp thriller From Hell.
The actor joined the science fiction television series Primeval on ITV in 2009, taking on the role of Danny Quinn, a former police officer with unconventional methods.
His television credits extend to the BBC medical drama Casualty, and he has maintained a presence in British film and television throughout his career.
Beyond his work in Ritchie’s films, Mr Flemyng has established himself as a versatile performer across multiple genres, from period dramas to contemporary thrillers.
