BBC EastEnders legend teases return to Albert Square at Debbie Moore’s blue plaque unveiling
Former EastEnders star Bonnie Langford has hinted at a possible return to Albert Square whilst attending the English Heritage Blue Plaque unveiling for dance pioneer Debbie Moore.
When asked by a GB News reporter whether fans could expect to see her reprise her role in the BBC soap, Langford remained coy about her future plans.
“I don’t know… I don’t know. You’ll have to wait and see,” she told reporters at the ceremony.
The actress, who has also appeared as a fan favourite in Doctor Who, was amongst those celebrating Moore’s contributions to the dance world at the unveiling.
Langford paid tribute to Moore’s groundbreaking work in establishing a vital hub for the dance community in central London.
“Debbie is hugely important because she was such a pioneer,” Langford said at the ceremony.

“When the original dance centre on Floral Street closed down very, very quickly, she opened this place and it became an absolute sanctuary for dancers.”
She emphasised how Moore created more than just a venue, building an entire community for performers.
“It was a place to come and practise, rehearse, learn. A whole community, and she created that community. She brought everybody together,” Langford explained.
Langford shared her personal history with Moore’s studios, revealing she has been using the facilities since she was a teenager.
“I first came here when she first started it,” she recalled. “I then went into Cats, and I used to come and rehearse in between.”
The actress jokingly added, “I was 16… so that was, what, ten years ago?”
Langford played the role of Carmel Kazemi in the BBC One soap between 2015 and 2018.
Many pioneering women have been commemorated under London’s blue plaque scheme, with Debbie Moore being the latest.
Langford added: “Debbie was a pioneer. I remember when she first went onto the Stock Exchange floor – that was a big deal in the 80s.
“Not only was it a testament to her success in business, but also in a creative and cultural space where women weren’t usually seen.”
“She proved that it’s about brains and charm. You can be that person – whether you’re a woman or a man.”
