Daley Thompson, 66, hits out at ‘desperate’ ITV CBB co-stars in damning verdict following eviction: ‘They tell half-truths!’
Daley Thompson has shared his thoughts on his ITV Celebrity Big Brother following his eviction on Sunday.
The 66-year-old athlete was given the boot after being nominated alongside EastEnders star Patsy Palmer, 52.
While appearing on ITV This Morning, the former Olympian spoke openly about his experience on the iconic show – in particular, how he got on with certain housemates.
“It wasn’t so much a shock but to be in a room where everybody is desperate to get the oxygen and they want to be up front, first to speak, last to speak,” Thompson explained.

Reflecting on his co-stars, the 66-year-old explained he was happy to observe them from the sidelines.
“It’s really interesting to see all the machinations because people mostly tell half-truths.
“They’re the professionals within the group which is why they do all the strange things,” Thompson said.
Taking a barely concealed swipe at housemates JoJo Siwa, 21, and Chris Hughes, 32, the former Olympian revealed he was cynical about their much-discussed relationship which has blossomed on the show.
“I don’t know if it’s genuine – I think it works for both of them,” he concluded.
Speculation about Siwa and Hughes continues, as they appear to grow increasingly close with each instalment of the show.
Thompson’s comments echo those made during his time on the show.
Knowing he could be leaving the iconic house soon, he issued some “advice” to Ella Rae Wise, 24, during Friday’s instalment.
“I know it’s difficult if you are struggling to be heard, put your hand up,” he began.
“Because there’s some people that are really loud and there’s some people that do this professionally as a game.
“There’s two people in here that do it all of the time. I think on the cameras, people will be interested in their relationship,” the athlete added.
During Sunday’s episode, Wise revealed Thompson’s parting words to Danny Beard, 32, and Donna Preston, 38.
“Daley just basically said that you’ve got to be careful. There are two reality stars in here that do reality every single day,” she explained.
“He said they know what they’re doing, if they pair up, they’re going to take a lot of air time from people. And it’s going to be very fixated on them both. And just to be mindful.”
Later, Beard, relayed to words to Hughes and Siwa, which prompted the former Love Island star to calmly respond: “I’m fine with that.
“I know that mine and JoJo’s friendship is genuine. I’m fine with other people looking at it from that perspective.
“When you’ve been somewhere for two weeks, naturally you’re going to gravitate towards people. That’s just life,” he added.
However, Wise quickly added: “What we’ve got to take into consideration is that there’s people in here that have caring sides, and there’s people in here who wouldn’t want you to be used for your platform.”
