Rachel Shenton, 37, gives birth as All Creatures Great and Small star shares first snap of newborn
All Creatures Great and Small star Rachel Shenton has welcomed her first child with husband Chris Overton.
The couple announced the birth of their baby boy, Orson Wilde Overton, who arrived on April 9, 2025.
The 37-year-old actress, known for her role in the popular Channel 5 drama, shared the joyful news on social media.
This marks the first child for both Shenton and Overton, who have been married since 2018.

Shenton took to Instagram to share the happy news with her followers, posting a black-and-white photo of her newborn’s feet.
In her heartfelt announcement, she wrote: “On the 09.04.2025 my dream came true… Welcome to the world Orson Wilde Overton… Our hearts are yours.”
The former Hollyoaks actress expressed her joy at becoming a first-time parent alongside her husband Chris Overton, 34.
The actress revealed that baby Orson arrived earlier than expected, necessitating a stay at hospital.
“Orson came along earlier than expected…so we needed to stay in hospital for a while and we couldn’t have wished for better care and support,” Shenton explained in her post.
She expressed her gratitude to the medical professionals who cared for them during their stay.
“The biggest thank you to the brilliant midwives and doctors at Royal Stoke maternity Unit,” she wrote.
The announcement was met with an outpouring of support from friends and followers in the comments section.
TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher responded enthusiastically: “I am SO happy for you, over the moon in fact. This is the best news ever. Enjoy the new born bubble. I’m sending you all so much love.”
Another well-wisher commented: “Huge congrats to you, also he’s an Aries so this is extra marvellous.”

Shenton and Overton have been together since meeting in 2010, tying the knot in 2018.
The couple share not only their personal lives but professional success as well.
They collaborated on the short film “The Silent Child,” which won an Oscar for Live Action Short Film in 2018.
While Rachel wrote and starred in the film about a six-year-old deaf girl, Chris took on the role of director.
As Rachel embarks on her new journey as a mother, she can likely count on the support of her own mum, Joy.
The actress shares a particularly close bond with her mother.
In 2023, Shenton celebrated Joy on Mother’s Day by sharing a photo of them together at a wedding.
She captioned the image with a simple but heartfelt message: “I love you Mamma.”
