‘It feels like a big family’ – Emily Carver thanks GBN members after sharing joyous pregnancy update
Emily Carver has shared a heartfelt message with GB News members following the joyful announcement that she and her husband, fellow GB News presenter Patrick Christys, are expecting their first child in September.
Speaking just after coming off air from Good Afternoon Britain, Emily stayed behind in the studio to personally thank the GB News community for the outpouring of support since the couple went public with their news.
“We’ve been inundated with messages from all of you viewers and listeners and all of our members, which is so nice,” she said. “It’s making me feel far more confident about the whole thing.”
As she embraces this exciting new chapter, Emily was candid about the mix of emotions that come with first-time motherhood. “Of course, it is a bit scary… being pregnant for the first time and having your first child,” she said. “But everything’s going smoothly. Everything’s well. The scans have all gone to plan, so everything’s looking great at the minute.”
Emily also shared that the early pregnancy nausea has now passed—a challenge she quietly managed while continuing her on-air duties. “That was quite difficult when I was, you know, presenting but also feeling rather sick. I think some of you might have caught on to that.”
The couple, who are both familiar faces to GB News viewers, have decided to keep the baby’s gender under wraps for now—though that may change. “We do know… perhaps we can keep it a secret. I don’t know, maybe Patrick and I might like to tell you. We do like sharing things with the GB News family.”
Reflecting on the support they’ve received from the GB News audience, Emily said “Most of the time, we feel like we’re a big family who can share all our good news and, you know, problems as well.”
She closed with a thank you to all who’ve been in touch. “Thank you so much again for all of the support, all the kind messages. Keep watching.”
