Emily Carver praises eagle-eyed GB News viewers for spotting tell-tale signs before huge announcement
GB News presenter Emily Carver has announced she is expecting her first child with husband and fellow presenter Patrick Christys.
The announcement came during Friday evening’s show on April 11, with Emily later revealing that eagle-eyed viewers had already spotted tell-tale signs of her pregnancy.
“Over the last few weeks, lots of people have been speculating”, she said. “There are so many eagle-eyed viewers who seem to know things before we even do.”
The surprise announcement came during the regular Union Jackass and Greatest Briton segment of Christys’ show.
Patrick, 33, took an unexpected turn when it was time for Emily’s nomination.
“I was going to ask for your pick for Greatest Briton Emily but then I thought I would nominate my own”, Patrick said.

Emily responded: “Well, we are a family here at GB News. I feel like a lot of our viewers and a lot of our audience members feel that way too, so we’ve got a little motion picture to show you.”
The programme then displayed a video of Emily receiving an ultrasound in hospital, confirming her pregnancy.
The touching moment was shared with viewers as part of the couple’s announcement on the People’s Channel.
Emily had been aware of viewers noticing changes before the official announcement.

He added: “It’s exciting times. It’s a bit of a GB News family here and now in more ways than one.”
Fellow GB News presenter Michael Portillo also commented on the couple’s news, describing having a baby as an “optimistic thing to do”.
Emily responded with humour about their contribution to addressing declining birth rates.
“This is what we were thinking. We’re doing our bit for Britain, this is our duty”, she joked.
“With all the doom and gloom and misery and people not having children because of X, Y and Z, this is great news.”
