Lisa Hogan, 51, pens heartfelt tribute to Jeremy Clarkson, 65, as he celebrates major milestone: ‘I’m so proud’
Lisa Hogan has penned a sweet tribute to her partner Jeremy Clarkson, who marked his 65th birthday on Friday.
Sharing a snap of herself and Clarkson looking windswept with a stunning sea-view backdrop, the Irish actress, 51, captioned the Instagram post with a heartfelt message to the former Top Gear star.
In a jokey statement, she wrote: “Congratulations for Finally achieving those Three Little Letters!
“After five and a half decades of service to King & country, and indeed across this fine globe, I’m so proud, & frankly astonished, you’ve earned Jeremy Clarkson OAP.”
She signed off the caption with a sweet: “Happy Birthday @jeremyclarkson1.”
Fans swooped to the comments to respond to the joke and wish the Grand Tour star a happy birthday.
“Hilarious – I genuinely thought I was going to see MBE or OBE,” one wrote, with another adding: “Occasionally Angry Person? Happy birthday!!”
“Technically he still has another 2 years to go before he’s a ‘pensioner’!” one more added.
Others were tricked into thinking Hogan was sharing wedding news, with another writing: “I thought you were about to say he proposed.”
“Thought he got knighted for a second,” another penned.
One more admitted: “There’s me thinking he’s been knighted. (should be BTW).”
“LMFAOOO that’s tickled me Rt, Hon OAP Jeremy Clarkson,” someone else added. (sic)
The post comes a day after Hogan announced some exciting career news as she prepares to publish her first book.
In My Animals and Other Eejits, Hogan takes readers through a year in the life of the nation’s favourite farm, Diddly Squat.
From lambing season to harvest time, via attempts to disrupt the mushroom market and constant derailments from red tape and tractor mishaps, Hogan’s new project takes fans behind the scenes at Diddly Squat.
Along the way, she shares stories from her childhood in Dublin’s Sandymount, her former work as an actor, model, and sculptor.
She also shares the stories behind the goats, cows and piglets that have captured the hearts of people across the world.
She stated: “Barely a day goes by at Diddly Squat without a brilliant or bizarre adventure. I’m so excited to share this book of revelations, tips and trip-ups.
“It tells the story of a year of crops, breeding, overalls and offspring on the farm, where bale twine is as valuable as a Wall Street commodity.
“It’s been a joy to write and I’m thrilled to be working with the good people at Penguin Random House to bring it into the world.”
Meanwhile, Hogan and Clarkson are both readying themselves for a return to television screens in the fourth season of Amazon’s record-breaking series, Clarkson’s Farm.
The pair will be on hand to deliver eight new episodes filmed at Clarkson’s Oxfordshire farm as he struggles with the day-to-day rigmarole of keeping his farming venture afloat.
However, in season four, Clarkson has decided to pursue another business venture after buying his own pub in the Cotswolds last year.
The Farmer’s Dog in Asthall, near Burford, Oxfordshire, has been far from a plain sailing project for the 65-year-old, however, with Clarkson even branding it a “total disaster” just months after it opened its doors.
