JoJo Siwa’s mum breaks silence on ITV CBB’s Mickey Rourke following ‘homophobic’ remarks towards the 21-year-old
JoJo Siwa’s mother has shared a revealing video showing her daughter’s heartfelt conversation with Mickey Rourke following his homophobic comments on Celebrity Big Brother UK.
The clip, posted to Instagram just hours ago, captures a moment of reconciliation between the 21-year-old Dance Moms alum and the 72-year-old actor.
This comes after Wednesday night’s episode where Rourke made several offensive remarks about Siwa’s sexuality, telling her “If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore.”
Despite the hurtful comments, the video shows Siwa displaying remarkable emotional maturity by connecting with Rourke on a personal level.
Her mother Jess captioned the post highlighting how the interaction transformed “from heartbreaking to the purest form of acceptance.”
In the shared video, Siwa is seen telling Rourke she “realized” he’s “been through some s***,” referencing his previously mentioned abusive childhood that caused insomnia.
“You do a great job until you’re surrounded by 13 strangers in a house and your emotions take over in a way that you could never could predict,” Siwa says compassionately.
Rourke acknowledges his growth, responding, “I’m way better than I used to be. I was hell on wheels 20 years ago. It took 23 years of therapy to get almost normal.”

The interaction reveals a surprising bond forming between the two contestants despite their earlier conflict.
Rourke’s offensive comments occurred during Wednesday night’s episode when he directly questioned Siwa about her sexuality.
“Do you like girls or boys?” Rourke asked, to which Siwa responded, “Me? Girls. My partner is non-binary.”
He then made the inappropriate remark about changing her sexuality if he stayed in the house longer.
Later, Rourke stated: “I’m going to vote the lesbian out real quick,” prompting fellow contestant Chris Hughes to intervene, saying “You can’t do that Mickey.”
Rourke also used a homophobic slur, claiming he was referring to a cigarette.
The incident left Siwa in tears, resulting in producers calling Rourke to the Diary Room where he was reprimanded.
According to reports, he acknowledged why his words were wrong and apologized.
Siwa’s partner, Kath Ebbs, later condemned Rourke’s behavior as “dangerous.”
Jess Siwa, JoJo’s mother, shared the clip on Instagram with a heartfelt caption about her daughter’s approach to the difficult situation.
“This went from heartbreaking to the purest form of acceptance; meeting someone where they are and befriending them for exactly who they are,” she wrote.
She signed the post “Love, (Proud) Dance Mom Jess.”
