ITV Celebrity Big Brother house locked down after ‘terrifying’ security breach causes chaos
Celebrity Big Brother was thrown into chaos yesterday afternoon as the house was placed under immediate lockdown following a serious security breach.
A drone managed to infiltrate the premises and land in the garden of the ITV reality show, prompting security teams to activate emergency protocols.
The incident forced all 13 housemates to remain inside whilst shutters were pulled down across windows and doors to secure the property.
The breach has raised significant concerns about the safety of contestants on the popular programme, with ITV now conducting a thorough review of their security measures.
The alarming incident occurred in broad daylight at the television studios in London.
At the time of the breach, two celebrities were enjoying the outdoor space of the Big Brother house.
Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke was in the midst of a workout session on an exercise bike, appearing largely unbothered by the unexpected aerial visitor.
Former Conservative MP Michael Fabricant was also outside taking in some fresh air when the drone appeared.
According to footage that later emerged, Fabricant was the first to spot the drone and playfully pretended to shoot it down.
Rourke, meanwhile, continued his cycling with arms crossed, merely glancing upward at the hovering device.
The pair promptly returned inside as security protocols were activated, with metal shutters quickly descending over the windows.
The security breach was documented in full by a TikTok user operating under the name “thedronemenace”, who shared footage of the entire incident online.
The video begins outside ITV-affiliated studios, with the operator pointing out security before declaring: “Alright, let’s get to it, see what we can see.”
The footage then cuts to the garden, capturing the celebrities’ reactions before showing the shutters being activated.
In the TikTok post, the user wrote: “The Celebrity Big Brother house is LOCKED DOWN! Thanks to the DRONE MENACE! Watch the chaos unfold as the housemates react to being trapped!”
The brazen operator even encouraged viewers to “Stay tuned for the full story!”
An insider source told The Sun: “It was a major security breach. Flying a drone over the house is one thing but to be able to as good as land it in the garden meters away from the stars is terrifying.”
The source continued: “Michael was the first to spot the drone and pretended to shoot it down while Mickey was baffled.
“All the housemates ran to the doors to see what was happening but Big Brother quickly pulled down the shutters.”
ITV has not yet commented publicly on the incident.
The breach has prompted an immediate review of security procedures at the Celebrity Big Brother compound.
A subsequent video posted by the drone operator revealed additional footage of the incident, showing Mickey Rourke actually waving at the drone and inviting it to follow him.
In this extended clip, Michael Fabricant can be seen holding the door open, waiting for Rourke to return to the house.
Just seconds after both celebrities made it back inside, the protective shutters began to unfurl.
The footage also captured other housemates visibly jumping up to see what was happening through the windows before the lockdown was fully implemented.
ITV is expected to enhance security measures around the perimeter of the Celebrity Big Brother compound following this concerning breach.
