Ella-Rae Wise’s ex Dan Edgar makes feelings clear amid Chris Hughes’s flirty scenes as ITV CBB fans tip new romance
Dancing on Ice and The Only Way is Essex star Dan Edgar is said to be “blindsided” after Ella-Rae Wise called time on their on-off relationship just days before entering the Big Brother house.
Edgar and Wise began dating 18 months ago, shortly after his split from long-term girlfriend Amber Turner – who he also met on the ITVBe show and shares custody of their dog, Oliver.
Wise confirmed their split hours before entering the Celebrity Big Brother house and noted in her VT that she “could flirt with anything! I’m flirting with the camera.”
During the most recent series of the ITVBe series, Edgar and Wise were apart for three weeks whilst she went on holiday with the Towie cast to Bali and he stayed behind to train for the ITV skating competition.
The couple seemed loved-up than ever, sharing a lodge date in the most recent episode and telling one another they loved each other.
Wise’s decision to end things with Edgar has come as a huge shock to him, with a source telling The Sun: “They were still chatting after the big row on Wednesday as had both agreed it just wasn’t working.”

“But everything was pretty amicable. They were just chatting as normal, the odd text and that, and spoke on Sunday just before she went into lockdown.”
Edgar is said to have believed their breakup had been “fairly amicable” following the row, with the source adding: “But he was blindsided by the comments she made about being such a flirt last night, and how she flirted with everyone constantly, as that’s just not nice to hear.”
Wise explained her reasons for ending the relationship in an interview with The Sun just before entering the house and admitted: “We are not together.
“And it’s really, really sad that we’re not together. We split up a week ago. We can’t just be together because we have a great sex life; it’s got to be deeper than that.
“He’s very set in his ways and I can’t change someone and I can’t expect someone to change either.”
Despite the split being so fresh, fans are already predicting a potential romance between Wise and fellow CBB housemate and former Love Island star Chris Hughes.
Hughes, who reached the 2017 Love Island final with Olivia Attwood, had previously revealed he was looking forward to getting to know new people in the house.
Sparks appeared to fly between the pair almost immediately after entering the house, with cameras capturing a flirtatious cleaning scene.
Wise asked Hughes to fetch some wipes from under the sink so they could clean the counters together, and he cheekily responded: “Anything else while I’m down here?” to which she quipped: “Don’t ask.”
As Hughes bent down to retrieve the cleaning products, Ella remarked: “That’s it, boy,” before they began to bond over their shared love of cleaning.
Just days before entering the house, it was reported that Wise had promised Edgar she wouldn’t flirt with Hughes.
However, The Sun reported that producers “may have other ideas” and could be planning to “pair the duo up” for tasks.
