Michael Fabricant, 74, dealt another blow just hours after being booed upon ITV Big Brother debut
Former MP Sir Michael Fabricant has been dealt another blow just hours after being booed as he arrived on ITV’s Celebrity Big Brother on Monday.
The 74-year-old made his debut on the reality show when it returned this week, but found himself loudly booed by the live audience as he was interviewed by presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best.
Fabricant was a Conservative MP in Staffordshire for more than three decades before losing his seat last year.
He joined 12 other famous faces but seemed to incite the most jeering from the crowd. Unfortunately, he has also now been tipped to make the first exit.
New odds from betting company BetMGM have revealed former Love Island star Chris Hughes is the early favourite to be crowned the 2025 winner, while Fabricant has been placed at the bottom of the list.
Hughes, now an ITV horse racing presenter, is 3/1 to win the show according to the figures, with the Drag performer and singer Danny Beard and Coronation Street actor Jack P. Shepherd both in contention at 5/1.
Other celebrities fancied to be in the running are EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer at 7/1 and singer Chesney Hawkes at 9/1, while politician Fabricant is the outsider at 33/1.
A BetMGM spokesperson said: “Chris Hughes was one of the most popular contestants on Love Island, so it’s no surprise that he’s a leading contender for Celebrity Big Brother.

“Hughes heads our early betting at 3/1, but there are plenty of other celebrities considered strong contenders with Danny Beard and Jack P. Shepherd both 5/1, while Patsy Palmer will have plenty of EastEnders fans in her corner at 7/1.”
The full 2025 line-up, officially confirmed in the opening episode, includes Chesney Hawkes, JoJo Siwa, Trisha Goddard, Hughes, Palmer, Fabricant, Shepherd, Ella Wise, Daley Thompson, Donna Preston, Angellica Bell, Beard and Mickey Rourke.
Rourke, the last to be introduced, sparked outrage in seconds as he appeared bewildered during his introduction and soon made some “uncomfortable” gestures towards host Odudu.
Dressed in a cowboy outfit and a red leather jacket, the 72-year-old lingered on stage next to Odudu and co-host Will Best.
Odudu had to instruct him to “stop looking at me” as he glared at her and complimented the 37-year-old presenter.
Seeming confused, he told the presenters: “I had nothing to do with tonight,” when asked about joining the show.
The two hosts soon had to push him along the stage to make his entrance in the house, leaving fans cringing further.
Many expressed concern for the actor as well as Odudu, with one writing on X: “AJ dealt with Mickey situation really well! #cbb #cbbuk.”
“Omg is it me or [does] Mickey Rouke have absolutely no idea where he is and what he’s doing or what he has let himself in for #CBBUK #CBB,” a second asked.
A third noted: “AJ handled that really well. Well done to her. She didn’t make herself look uncomfortable.” (sic)
