Gogglebox viewers fume at Channel 4 ‘pushing lefty propaganda’ during segment: ‘Ruining the show!’
Channel 4 Gogglebox has sparked fury among some fans after they accused a segment on the latest episode of “going woke”.
Friday’s instalment saw the beloved armchair critics wade into American politics and President Donald Trump.
The various personalities on the show were shown an ITV news clip covering the US attempts to acquire Greenland.
In the segment, a section of a Trump speech was shown along with footage of Vice President JD Vance’s trip to an American military base in territory.

A host of fan-favourites watched the clip and few had a kind word to say about what they had seen.
“JD Vance has gone out there to flex his bloody muscles,” Sue Sheeran despaired
“Well, he can’t flex his brain because he hasn’t got one!” her husband Steve shot back.
“Horrible yob!” Mary Killen declared as Vance spoke to US troops on the base.
Others branded Trump and Vance as ignorant and repeatedly rebuked the US leader’s claims about Greenland.
Fans quickly took to social media to share their fury at the segment, claiming it demonstrated bias.
“This show has been pushing the lefty propaganda for so long! Notice how they only show a select number of families when talking about the republicans. It’s suppose to be a consensus of opinions #Gogglebox,” one raged on X.
Another fumed: “Why do @Channel4 insist on spoiling #Gogglebox with their biased and scripted rubbish. The whole original idea has been lost.”
“It’s an amazing coincidence but everyone on gogglebox has exactly the same woke view of the world. Ok, probably not a coincidence! #Gogglebox,” a third raged.
Others felt the alleged bias was taking something away from a show they usually enjoyed.
One disappointed fan wrote: “Just came on here to comment on the ever growing regulatory of the left wing bias on gogglebox. They need to lose the politics, it’s ruining a good show.”
“#gogglebox is by far the best show on TV but please leave politics alone. This bunch of thick lefties haven’t got a clue!!” another declared.
Other viewers felt the segment was necessary, with one arguing: “Seeing as politics governs our lives I’d proffer such discussion as entirely apt.”
Another felt the show accurately reflected the public opinions accurately: “Watching Gogglebox and every one of them are disgusted and shocked at Trumps behaviour. I am yet to speak to a single person who agrees with what trump and Vance did.
