Sir Steve Redgrave, 62, dealt brutal ITV Dancing on Ice blow ahead of next elimination according to new data
Sir Steve Redgrave has been dealt a major blow ahead of his next Dancing on Ice performance this Sunday.
The 62-year-old former Olympian made his debut last weekend alongside skating partner Vicky Ogden. While they were saved by the public vote, it seems Redgrave may not be so lucky this week.
Redgrave was at risk of being sent home after being placed at the bottom of the leaderboard for Week Two of the ITV show.
Now, expert predictions have seen the retired rower placed with worrying odds of being eliminated on Sunday’s show.
According to betting company NoDepositRewards, Redgrave has current odds of 100/1 to be crowned the winner – and has the lowest odds to leave this week.
Current odds price Redgrave at 6/4 (40 percent probability) as the most likely to go, followed closely by comedian Josh Jones at 7/4 (36.4 percent probability).
The former rower’s progression last week sparked some backlash as fans labelled the result “a fix” after watching the first contestant leave.
It came as actress Chelsee Healey was instead booted off in a move that caused a social media storm.
Some fans believe the 36-year-old was “stitched up,” arguing Redgrave should have been eliminated instead.
The series has already come under fire for making a change to its elimination system by getting rid of the skate-off, which used to give the bottom two skaters the chance to fight for their place on the competition.
Host Holly Willoughby summarised how many fans felt when she told the former Waterloo Road star: “I think everyone is shocked actually to see you in this position.”
Meanwhile, the betting company has predicted Michaela Strachan, 58, will be crowned the series winner.
So far, the presenter has dazzled in her performances and is set to return to the ice on Sunday.
She scored 30.5 points in her skating debut during episode one and remains the frontrunner going into week three.
During last week’s show, the judging panel – consisting of Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill, and Christopher Dean – were accused of “over-marking” certain celebs.
The criticism came as EastEnders legend Charlie Brooks made her skating debut alongside partner Eric Radford.

The panel was in agreement about the actress, with each of them awarding the actress a score of 6.5.
Their feedback varied, with former Strictly star Mabuse urging Brooks to try not to allow nerves to impact her performance.
On the other hand, Banjo argued he “couldn’t tell” if the actress was suffering from nerves.
It became apparent minutes in though that many fans thought the judges had “overmarked” the pair, with some remarks accusing the panel of being too concerned with “political correctness (PC)”.
Viewers will have to wait for this week’s show to see if the betting company’s predictions will be proved right, with one more couple set to become the second to leave.
