Jeremy Clarkson’s pregnant daughter diagnosed with rare health condition after being ‘unable to feel arms’
Jeremy Clarkson’s daughter Emily, 30, has announced she is struggling with her health as she deals with the “hardest time of her life” amid her second pregnancy on Wednesday.
Clarkson announced she was suffering from thoracic outlet syndrome which left without feeling in her arms.
Thoracic outlet syndrome is a rare condition that is caused by the compression of the nerves, arteries, and veins in the lower neck and upper chest area.
The debilitating ailment, more common in women, can lead to dull aching pain in the arms, constant pins and needles and sometimes loss of feeling altogether.
Clarkson revealed she was suffering from the condition on Wednesday, adding that it had been brought on by her hyperemesis gravidarum – more commonly known as severe morning sickness.
“The pressure of being sick so much has obvs been intense in that area,” she began in an Instagram post sharing the worrying news. (sic)
The 30-year-old is in the final stages of her second pregnancy, which has been blighted by the terrible morning sickness and now her new difficulties.
“By last week I pretty much just couldn’t feel my arms at all,” she explained further before adding the period had been “SO stressful”.
Her condition is such that she is sometimes unable to hold her first daughter, Arlo.
On a more positive note, Clarkson said an “incredible” osteopath had helped lessen the pain of her condition.
“I have tingly hands now rather than dead arms,” she wrote happily.
However, while the constant ailment is gone, the 30-year-old explained her condition now “flares up” more acutely whenever she is sick.
The “WAY worse” bouts after vomiting make her arms “go really heavy like they’re full of lead and feel terrible”.
Despite all her trials, Clarkson posted a smiling selfie with the update and continues to be in high spirits.
The author, who also podcasts and writes an agony aunt column, keeps fans updated on her pregnancy journey in regular candid Instagram posts.
In an earlier Instagram post, she conceded her current pregnancy was the “hardest time of my life”.
