Fearne Cotton shares discovery of two tumours as she thanks Davina McCall for support
Fearne Cotton has shared a major health update after revealing she had discovered two tumours.
The presenter explained on Instagram that she’d been told the “growing” masses were benign before thanking Davina McCall, who recently shared her experience of a benign brain tumour, for her support.
She labelled McCall a great source of support in light of the shock news.
Captioning the post, the 43-year-old penned: “Hey gang.
“I’m going to be out of action for a bit due to a surgery. I felt a lump under my ear on my jawline a while ago now but this year noticed it was growing.
“Turns out it’s a benign tumour and another small one above it on the saliva gland.
“I’m feeling positive about it all and will take the opportunity to rest and slow right down.”
She went on to urge fans: “If you feel a lump or bump or feel like something is a bit off, always go get it checked.
“I’m so glad I did as the longer you leave these things the more complicated things become.
“It’s obviously so weird that only a couple of months ago Davina told me about her tumour and then weeks later I was calling her having discovered mine.
“I’m not only lucky she’s a bl***y good mate but also a beacon of light and positivity when it comes to this stuff.
“Sending you all loads of love and I’ll see you soon.”
In the video, she explained: “I’ve got to have an operation.
“I’ve got a benign tumour just in my jaw here below my ear, and another tiny little one above it.”
She went on to state she is “very grateful” the tumours are benign.
“But they do need to come out, because they’re on a nerve,” she added.

“So I’m going to have that surgery and then I’m going to be resting to get better before Christmas,” she went on, admitting she isn’t “very good at resting”.
The news comes just weeks after McCall shared she would be undergoing brain surgery for the benign tumour.
“I’m posting it because a few months ago I did a menopause talk for a company and they offered me a health scan in return, which I thought I was going to ace, but it turned out I had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst, which is very rare,” she detailed.
“Three in a million! So I slightly put my head in the sand for a while, and then I saw quite a few neurosurgeons, I got lots of opinions.
“I realised that I have to get it taken out. It’s big for the space – it fills the space. It’s 14mm wide. And it needs to come out because if it grows it would be bad,” she went on.
