Tasha Ghouri sparks concern over BBC Strictly future as fans ‘worried’ over key decision
Strictly Come Dancing fans have expressed their concern that Tasha Ghouri could fall from the upper echelons of the leaderboard this weekend after this week’s dances were announced.
As the competition enters its 10th week, the seven couples will each tackle a different ballroom or Latin dance style once again.
From Quickstep to Rumba, and American Smooth to Paso Doble, the remaining contestants will showcase their versatility on the dancefloor.
The upcoming performances promise an eclectic mix of music choices, ranging from classic Ella Fitzgerald to modern Lewis Capaldi hits, as the competition intensifies heading towards the latter stages of the series.
Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe will take on a Quickstep to Ella Fitzgerald’s Get Happy, whilst Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola will perform a Rumba to Tina Arena’s Chains.
Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell will be tackling a Paso Doble to El Gato Montes, leaving Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas are set to dance the Foxtrot to Stand By Me by Ben E King.
JB Gill and Lauren Oakley will be showing off their Charleston to Yes Sir! That’s My Baby, whilst Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal round out the performances with a Tango to Easy Lover.
Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec, have prepared for an American Smooth to Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved, but fans have been less than impressed with the song choice.
One Reddit user expressed their concern and penned: “Looking forward to JB’s Charleston and Montell! I love a quickstep and I like the music they’ve chosen for it (unlike the other quicksteps this series).
“I think Sarah will be fine with the Rumba. There’s potential for a high-scoring Rumba here. The Tango will suit Pete. Good song too!
“Worried for Tasha this week just from looking at these dances and songs. Forgot about the Sambathon. I reckon JB could top the leaderboard all round this week.”
Another agreed: “American Smooth to Lewis Capaldi??? Come on now.”
Over on Instagram, someone else shared their issues with the song a noted: “Tasha should be doing a jive by now!! Also really want a quickstep or Charleston from Chris and Di.”
However, not everyone was as sceptical, as one Reddit user said: “Unpopular opinion but I’m not a fan of AS but I’m sure since I love the song and it’s Tasha I’ll like it.”
Despite avoiding the dance-off throughout the competition, Wicks has emerged as the bookmakers’ favourite to leave this weekend, with odds of 10/11.
Over the weekend, the former TOWIE star was embroiled in a fix row as many viewers claimed he should have been sent home over Wynne Evans and Katya Jones.

Dodging the dance-off, fans weren’t as convinced he should have been given another lifeline, as one fumed on X: “Pete through, that’s ridiculous. Someone must have spent a toy of money on the phone lines. The words dance of the night.”
Another added: “Craig was literally the only sane person when ‘judging’ Pete this week. Genuinely didn’t deserve to stay on after the performance that was given. But hey…he’s popular right so that’s what counts.”
A third penned: “How is Pete Wicks getting these votes, truly? And Wynn not winning the dance-off is down to the judges being biased.”
“Such a shame to see Wynne go. So entertaining. I’m afraid I don’t understand why people keep voting for Pete,” someone else wrote before a fifth expressed: “It’s right that Wynne is gone but who the f is voting for Pete?”
